Life is a choice

Lately, I found a new punchline that I kept using in my day to day sentence.

"Hidup itu (kan) pilihan"

or "Life is a Choice"

actually sometimes I change the word "pilihan"(or choice) with other word such as Learning, Perspective, Experience etc.

But Life really is a choice.. Even better, it is YOUR own choice, since it is YOUR own life we are talking about here. You probably can't choose how other people live their life but you can certainly choose how to live your own life.

Yes, you can choose to be happy or to be sad.
Yes, you can choose to do good or to do bad (things)
Yes, you can choose to stop reading this blog post or continue reading it as it contains a lot of useful info

and Yes, you can choose to do what you like or you don't like

in the end any choice you make will give you a certain gain and/or loss, and simply put, you just need to weigh these things up and choose the one that's gonna give you the optimal value

say studying cost you x points, and not studying gives you 1 points (since you're using that time to play or something), but getting bad grades actually increase your sadness by 5 points, while getting better grades is a function of studying (the longer you study/the bigger x is, then the better your grades are gonna be). Be extra careful when deciding x to give you the optimal value, given the time constraint (cause I'm pretty sure you have more than one test/assignment/etc)

Also note, the benefit of getting good grades might give further effect such as easier time for getting jobs or pursuing further education.

In any case you can do this simple calculation and make things in your life much more efficient than it was before. Trust me, it will make your life at least ten times better, when you realize you're not wasting as much time as before. (I don't count playing/taking a break as a waste of time, as long as the time taken is reasonable)
